Sharing Energy, operator of Share Denki, launches “Share Denki Environmental Contribution Service”

Sharing Energy Co., Ltd.(Headquarter: Tokyo, CEO: Kazuyuki Uemura; hereinafter “Sharing Energy”), which provides “Share Denki,” a service to install PV systems without any initial fee and save on electricity bills, will start offering “Share Denki Environmental Contribution Service” for corporate customers and their employees using Sharing Denki.
What is the Share Denki Environmental Contribution Service?
Share Denki Environmental Contribution Service is an environmental contribution service that supports the carbon neutrality efforts of companies and the improvement of the quality of life (QOL) of their employees by utilizing the “environmental value” created by the use of Share Denki.
With our mission of “Transform the energy system through the creation of Distributed Energy Resources”, the number of contract requests for “Share Denki,” a third-party ownership service for residential solar power systems exceeded 10,000 in January 2023.
We have decided to offer this service in response to corporate customers’ requests, utilizing our knowledge and expertise.
We will continue to work together with companies and their employees to improve the quality of life of their employees and contribute to carbon neutrality through the Share Denki Environmental Contribution Service.

Service Model
Features of the Service
(1) Improvement of Employees’ Quality of Life
Contributes to improving the quality of life of employees by reducing their electricity bills and securing power supply in case of emergency.
2) Contribution to Carbon Neutrality
Profits from the sale of environmental value (J-Credit*) generated from the Share Denki used at houses of employees will be used for tree planting and other environmental protection activities. We will announce the companies that cooperate with us on our website. J-Credit can also be transferred** to companies.
*The J-Credit System is a system under which the Japanese government certifies the amount of greenhouse gas emission reductions and absorption as credits.
**Companies are required to prepare a separate account for J-Credit management.
Economic Benefits of Installation
If you install Share Denki, your electricity bill will be reduced by approximately 17,000 yen per year from the first to the 15th year in the case of combined use of electricity and gas, and by approximately 16,000 yen per year if you live in an all-electrified house.
Furthermore, after the contract period of 15 years, the PV systems (worth approximately two million yen) * will be transferred to the customer free of charge, which will reduce electricity bills by approximately 34,000 yen per year in the case of combined use of electricity and gas, and by approximately 32,000 yen per year if you live in an all-electrified house. In addition, you can also earn income from the sale of surplus electricity.
*Calculated at 300,000 yen/kW
*For new houses, a safety fee of 990 yen (including tax)/month (*180 times payments) for scaffold is not required.
*Electricity usage for houses for combined use of electricity and gas is estimated at 400 kWh/month, and 500 kWh/month for all-electric houses.
*The above unit price for Company A includes a renewable energy levy (3.45 yen/kWh *FY 2022) and the fuel adjustment cost (8.07 yen/kWh Tokyo Electric Power *October 2022).
*The amount of reduction in bill is an estimate based on the assumption that 30% of electricity consumption is covered by Share Denki compared by the electricity rate of Company A.
*The amount of reduction will vary depending on the customer’s lifestyle and installed PV system capacity. This estimation does not guarantee a cost reduction.
*If the installed PV system capacity is less than a certain number, a separate equipment usage fee may be charged.
